If you have a Chromecast device, you can use it with the Google Chrome desktop browser to watch content on your TV.
Note: Built-in Chromecast support in some TVs is not officially supported, and while it may work, our player is not developed to support this, so we cannot troubleshoot any issues that arise. Only external Chromecast devices are officially supported. If you provide the model number to our Support team, they can check compatibility for you.
Note: Chromecast is not supported via a mobile web browser (including Chrome) on iOS.
From Your Desktop Chrome Browser (Computer):
There are two ways to Chromecast a video to your TV screen: casting the entire browser window or casting from the video player. Both methods require your computer and Chromecast device to be connected to the same local network.
Casting from the Browser Tab:
- By casting the browser tab, you can control the video via the browser just as if you were watching it on your computer. Only the selected tab will cast; navigating to other tabs on your computer will not cast to the TV.
- If you navigate away from the selected tab (e.g., load a different website), the video will stop casting to your TV.
- To cast the browser tab:
- On the video page, open the Chrome menu in the upper right corner of the window (or open the View menu at the top) and select Cast.
- Select your Chromecast source and destination. Chromecast will connect and display the video on your TV screen.
- Use the player controls within the browser tab to pause, fast-forward, or rewind. To disconnect, click the blue Stop icon next to your casting destination
- On the video page, open the Chrome menu in the upper right corner of the window (or open the View menu at the top) and select Cast.
Casting from the Player:
- This method allows you to navigate away from the tab with the video playing while the video continues to play on the TV. However, doing so disconnects the player controls from the video on the screen. To regain controls, you would need to reset the Chromecast connection (stop casting and start again).
To cast the player:
- Hover the cursor over the player so that the player controls appear. If the Chromecast icon appears in the bottom right corner, you can cast the player.
- Click the Chromecast button on the player to open the Cast tab. Select your Chromecast source and destination. Chromecast will connect, and the video will start playing on your TV.
- Use the player controls on your desktop screen to pause, fast-forward, or rewind. To disconnect, click the Chromecast icon within the player, then select the blue Stop icon next to the casting destination.
Controlling Captions:
- Captions, if available, can be controlled directly within the player in the desktop browser when casting. They cannot be controlled on the TV screen.
